The 19th Hole Is Not Just a Golf Coffee Shop Any Longer - Just Ask Tiger Woods
June 2008 by Randy

The 19th Hole is a common name for coffee shops and watering holes in many golf courses that dot the U.S., but in the sudden death playoff of the 2008 U.S. Golf Open, it has a new meaning.
On the 19th hole of a playoff that was tighter than anyone imagined, Tiger Woods takes the prize again.
Tiger, being asked time and time again about his knee trouble said, “I’m glad I’m done. I really don’t feel like playing anymore. It’s sore.” Woods had not played since April 15 surgery on his left knee, but he held up for 91 holes, and the payoff was worth the pain.
Woods, who delivered many astounding moments over four days on the beautiful Torrey Pines course, only needed a two-putt par at the end to win the U.S. Open for the third time, ending a remarkable week for the world’s Number 1 player.
Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus as the only players to capture the Grand Slam three times over. Now, Tiger has 14 Majors to his credit. He now needs only four more to tie Jack.
